Castle Restaurant
Delicious meets view
You’re probably familiar with many of these sayings about love and food and there’s a grain of truth in every one of them.
It may sound corny, but it’s true: for us, love was the basis for everything.
In 2003, Monika Finke was asked by the then owners of the castle whether she would like to lease the hotel. Head over heels in love with this place and bursting with ideas, she said “yes”.
Two years later, Carsten Finke fell in love with the hotel manager, joined the business upon the birth of their first child in 2009 and learnt the craft of cooking over the years that followed.
They both took over the running of the hotel in 2012, and Carsten Finke has been head chef since 2017. In 2020, he passed the examination to become a head chef.
We have dedicated ourselves to delicious cuisine from the Baden region, which we add to and vary with the influences of the people around us. For example, we have introduced a Thai month, in which we celebrate the authentic recipes of our Thai employees.
We cordially invite you to combine pleasure with love, passion, and history.
In the spring of 2023, we completely renovated our restaurant and made a historical connection to one former resident of the Schlossberg: Augusta von Thurn und Taxis.
Our aim was to transport the history of the building – which is more than 125 years old –into the present day in a timeless and elegant way without distracting too much from the spectacular view of the Gutach Valley.
