The Black Forest Open-Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach is the oldest open-air museum in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Explore our Black Forest farms, mills and sawmills, parlours and barns and discover how people have lived and worked in the Black Forest over the last 400 years.

Triberger Wasserfälle

Germany's highest waterfalls in Triberg are a very special attraction. Foaming and thundering, the water of the Gutach plunges 163 m down into the valley in seven steps.

Find out more about the animals, plants and special features of the waterfall area on the information boards and observe the many squirrels along the paths.

Towns in the surrounding area

The towns near Hornberg Castle are definitely worth a visit. The mediaeval towns of Villingen and Gengenbach are just over half an hour away. You can take the train to both towns free of charge thanks to your Konus Guest Card. Baden-Baden, Freiburg and Strasbourg can all be reached within an hour.
